The Experience

Before You Go

Hydrate before and during the tour

Bring a refillable water bottle; the operator provides bottled water but you’ll want easy access on and after the ride.

Wear closed-toe, grippy shoes

Expect sandy, rocky terrain when exiting the vehicle—sturdy shoes protect toes and improve footing.

Protect your eyes and skin

Sunglasses, sunscreen and a buff or hat under your helmet prevent sunburn and dust irritation.

Secure loose items

Use lockers provided at the staging area—phones and cameras can fly out in rough sections if not tied down.

Local Knowledge

Hidden Gems

Conservation Note

Stay on designated roads and avoid driving on fragile cryptobiotic soils; operators and park staff work to limit routes to reduce erosion and habitat disruption.
